SOS Stick
A wireless two-way communicator to send emergency messages over long distances
Journal
Day 2: June 3rd
I didn't really do anything towards the project, but I decided tweak my idea a little bit; - Originally, the plan was for the communicator to talk to other identical communicators; I want to use that concept in another project, so instead, I'll have it talk to my computer/a server of some kind. This will also make it easier since I could use a protocol meant for one way communication (unless I decide to add a response protocol)
Day 1: June 2nd
Alright, so basically, this was supposed to be my Rehacted project, except: - I didn't go - I wanna make this using a single PCB (+ case and shit :3)
I did some research, and I think I'm gonna use the RP2040 chip, pretty easy to get, its a dollar so yeah.
Chat GPT told me that LoRA communication was perfect for my idea, guess we doing that now
I'll start designing and actually fleshing this out later, :P
when i said later i actually meant when i got to stats, im gonna lock in rn So apparently the LoRa chip I was planning on using doesn't go long enough for my plans (lemme talk to my bf yo 💔), so I'm gonna find a new chip :3
CatGPT to the rescue... again! Since I don't plan on commiting crimes by pumping up the signal, I'm gonna use LoRaWAN!
I've decided on these parts for now:
- RP2040
- RAK3172
- CR2032 (coin cell batteries) I want to recharge this easily, I'll use something else.
